Hispanic Motor Press Scholarship Winner is announced

The Hispanic Motor Press revealed the Scholarship winner during the Los Angeles Auto Show (LAAS) and AutoMobility LA.

The annual scholarship is available to communications and automotive college students across the United States. Candidates submit their work, which is reviewed by a panel of experienced journalists in the automotive industry.

“We need proper representation in the media rooms, and we must nurture the next wave of journalists that preserve our culture and traditions” said the organization president, Ricardo Rodriguez Long. “The media world keeps changing, but more than ever, we need to make sure that what we share with the Hispanic/Latino consumer is based on facts and presented professionally.”

From Washington, DC, Wayne Torres Rivera is a Puerto Rican descendant. He moved to California to pursue his studies in Automotive Design at the Academy of Arts University in San Francisco. He is also a talented photographer, and his images have appeared in industry publications. “Wayne has the qualities and drive to be successful. I am happy for him and knowing that the winner fit all our criteria”, said Aaron Sanchez, the scholarship committee chairman.

The next round of scholarships is open to applications, and we encourage students to apply early through the www.hispanicmotorpress.org website.
